recover unsaved work
hi, after having the program crash on me several times before I get the chance to save my work, I'm wondering what the likelihood would be of eventually including a feature similar to what's used in MS office where the program periodically makes a backup copy on what's currently being worked on in the event of the program crashing/freezing. After putting in a fair amount of effort that would've been saved apon reaching a good stopping point, it's rather discouraging when the program decides to either lock up or close out resulting in having to do everything over again and, more often than not, not done as well the second time around.

Re: recover unsaved work
Hi Elana,
Notation Composer has an excellent automatic backup system, which can be adjusted to your needs. To recover a file, navigate to C:\Program Files\Notation\Composer\Recover. You are likely to find a backup. Best wishes, Herbert |
Re: recover unsaved work
Thanks for the help, luckly it was still there and I saved a permanent copy right away. I would like to revise my suggestion with the idea of displaying the recovery copies in the file menu or recently opened window on startup in the event of a program crash.

Re: recover unsaved work
Hi Elana,
That's a good suggestion, to have the software detect if there was a problem closing down, and to offer the backup folder immediately on reopening after such an event. I've written that up :) ttfn, Sherry Task 1926 |
