Manual beat clocking control

The 650 pages manual is great but huge too when one tries to get an overview...

Is there an option to manually tap in the beat while playing back? In other words a manual human clock advance instead of using the internal beats and tempo controls?

Re: Manual beat clocking control

Hi,

If you mean a way to readjust the notation based on your tapped-in tempo, the happy answer is "yes" :)

Notation Composer has a "Rebar" feature that allows you to tap in the barlines for files that were recorded without reference to a metronome. In the Users Guide, there are specific instructions for using it. The basic gist is that you open the file, click on the Staff Symbols palette, and then the last button on the right. This puts you in Rebar mode. You then click the Record button that is in the palette toolbar (not the main Record button in the main toolbar). After you tap in the barlines, you can use the buttons or keyboard to make fine adjustments. There is a detailed explanation with screen shots in the Users Guide - just use the Index to find "rebar".

ttfn,
Sherry

I have noted the new "Rebar" feature even if I haven't checked it out yet. I will do so soon.

What I meant was not a readjustment but a performance tool - in Notion 3 this is called "NTempo".
