Anchoring Slurs
Unless I'm not doing something right, slurs are not anchored to the pitches they are associated with, so if you transpose a song with slurs, the slurs are no longer correctly positioned. If you only transpose a step, it's not too bad, but if you transpose a fifth, it is not close anymore.

Re: Anchoring Slurs
Hi, Ralph:
You're correct in that the slurs don't necessarily stay with the notes as they are transposed, but there's a fairly easy workaround. Simply select the slur (or slurs) and click on the "Fit slur above notes" or "Fit slur below notes" slur icon on the tool bar or press "a" for "above" or "b" for "below". They'll reset themselves. Hope that helps. David |
Re: Anchoring Slurs
Thank you, David. It didn't occur to me to do that. That workaround does the job pretty well. It's wonderful to have helpful folks available to help me see things that aren't always apparent to me.

Re: Anchoring Slurs
I would be glad if an updated version of Notation would give me the possibility to anchor the slurs. Without this option, there are always additional steps to do after deleting, pasting or transposing notes.

Meanwhile, David J's suggestion works pretty good (sorry for the extra clicks). ttfn, Sherry |
