Adding Grace Notes
 

I have been trying to add grace notes to a quarter note triplet. Toggling the show ornaments on the grace note details palette shows the triplet as ornamented notes when the grace notes are visible or as notes when grace notes are shown as ornamented notes (see example 1 attached).

I have tried changing the meter, note ruler interval, and voicing, to no avail.

Are there any workarounds for this problem?

Hi Rolf,

I am so sorry that I missed seeing this til now.

I suspect that the setting was for adding grace notes borrowing time from the right rather than from the left. Making sure that I had that set correctly allowed me to add the grace notes without goofing up the notation of the triplet notes. If I changed the setting to "borrow time from the right", it does indeed goof up the notation of the triplets.

I've put together a very short video showing the following steps:

1. Make sure that the "borrow time from the left" button is "On"
2. Add the grace notes (it's easier to add them "backwards" if you have multiples)
3. Adjust the pitch for the last one using the "P" plus Down Arrow button on your keyboard.
