New version 5.1.0 available

We at Notation would like to inform everybody that today Oct. 29th, 2024 we have released the version 5.1.0 of our product suite. For the content please visit our What's new page.

We decided to call the new update 5.1.0 because v5.1.0 contains significant sound enhancements. The default soundfont are the recently released GeneralUser GS v2.0.1 soundfont of Christian Collins. Many thanks to Chris.
For the default soundfont there is no difference any longer between Player, Musician and Composer. All products come with the same default soundfont. However, Composer still offers the feature to load soundfont individually.

In addition to the new soundfont, the brand new version of the fluidsynth library is available in 5.1.0 where the settings perfectly match to the new soundfont.

Important for Composer 5 users: In case somebody uses the default soundfont, they will be replaced with the new default soundfont automatically with v5.1.0. But in case a user has used individual soundfont so far, he has to manually load the new default soundfont GeneralUser-GS.sf2. If you want to go with new GeneralUser GS soundfont we strongly recommend to use them from

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Notation_5\Soundfonts\Ge neralUser-GS.sf2

because then the sound settings will be adjusted automatically to receive the best possible sound.

v5.1.0 is a free update to version 5 licenses. For upgrades from version 4 we offer a discount. Please visit the Update/Upgrade Assistant and insert your email address to see what options exist.

Regards,

Reinhold
