Some Renaissance Ragtime
 

Hi, all:

We are working on a unique production Shakespeare's Love's Labors Lost for next July.

Unique in that it features original songs, a re-worked script -- and Dixieland music! And what music is more fun than Dixieland?

The end of Shakespeare's script is a double madrigal: "When Daisies Pied". It's vocally a very challenging and enjoyable piece, with a few sly double entrendres, but madrigals are hardly dixieland jazz, are they?

My task this week was to turn it into a 'dixie melody', to quote Al Jolson. This is the result.

I'm still working with the AI vocal program Ace Studio so it sounds pretty good in the video that can be found on BarnDoor Productions' website: www.barndoorproductions.ca

Like I said, what's more fun than dixieland jazz? Maybe, dixieland with a renaissance beat.
