Default Re: Adding measures to one part only

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation. As I understand it, you really need to "scootch" (highly technical term there ) the voice notes over some measures so that they line up with the proper piano notes. If so, then you won't need to start over, and you have a couple of options for how you want to do this.

Option 1. Copy the measures with the voice notes, and then paste them into their proper position.
  1. Using one of the Region selection methods, select the measure(s) with the voice notes in them.
  2. Use the keyboard short cut "Ctrl + X" - this will delete the notes from the current measures and copy them to the clipboard.
  3. Now select the Region in the voice staff where you want the notes to be. For example, if the notes were in measures 1-6, but you want them in measures 4-10, then start the selection for this step in measure 4, and select the entire range of measures for the notes to go in.
  4. Use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + V" to paste in the notes in the new location.
Option 2. Shift or "Scootch" the notes
  1. This method is better if it's only a few notes and you don't need to move them far. Select the note(s) you want to shift left or right.
  2. Hold the Shift key, and use the Right arrow key to shift them to the right (or Left one to move the notes to the left.) Press the arrow key as many times as you need to shift the notes to where you want them.
Hope this gets you going
Sherry
