"Autumn Leaves" was written in 1945 by Hungarian-French composer Joseph Kosma. The English lyrics were written in 1947 by Johnny Mercer.
This was probably one of the first 20 or so songs I learned when I started playing sax, and has long been a favorite of mine. My wife Cynthia shares my love for this song, therefore, I wrote the duet for us. I have set this hauntingly beautiful melody at a quarter note = 95, but it can be played slower with nice effect. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ralph Rayner Last edited by rrayner; 11-17-2013 at 02:06 PM. Reason: Posted wrong version |
