Hi Sherry,
Thanks for your response. I didn't like the extra white space when I tried the "hide rests" option. Instead, I selected measure 1 and changed the setting to dotted-quarter to 50, which isn't quite mathematically correct (Shouldn't it be 120? At quarter = 80, an eighth would be 40, and 3 eighths would be 120.) At any rate, 120 for one measure is way too fast, and 40 is too slow, so I set the tempo for measure 1 to 50, and it seems to feel right, or at least close. See the attached. Ralph
