That usually indicates a corrupted file, for some reason or other. Notation Composer saves files automatically as backups, and you may be able to recover a more or less up-to-date version of it by going to File -> Auto-save File Recovery and going through the filenames there. I have my Composer installation set up to auto-save every 10 minutes with up to 5 backups, so that the newest one is no more than 10 minutes old and the oldest no more than 50. I hope you find a useable backup. David |
