Ah, okay. The same thing happens with IE, Firefox, Opera, Thunderbird and quite a few other programs, too. Some are slower than others. I don't think it's related to Composer and as far as I can remember, I've had it from the beginning. I have 4GB of memory and Pentium 4 dual core. Once in a program, everything is lightning fast, so maybe the power doesn't have anything to do with program loading? best, mgj
