Default Additional Lyrics

It seems to be highly unlikely, but is there a practical way to add additional lyrics at the end of a score as free form text, instead of including them inline in the score?

A lot of pop song fake books do this.

As you would be well aware, the meter of additional lyrics don't always coincide with the meter of the first verse, so it can be a real bear trying to get the additional lyrics to fit the first verse melody, etc.

Hi Ralph,

Actually if you don't mind a few steps, you can fake it pretty well by doing the following:

  1. Open your song file and use Measure / Insert to add a single measure to the end of your song.
  2. Now use Layout / Page Layout / Insert Page Break, and click on that last measure to move that measure to a last page by itself. This keeps it out of the way, and you don't have to print that last page with the single empty measure on it.
  3. Swipe the last barline and change it to an ending barline (looks better for printing).
  4. Now use Layout / Page Layout again, and manually move the systems up on the page to make room for the additional text-only lyrics.
  5. Use Text / Free Text, and click down in the now empty space at the bottom of your page and start typing in your additional lyrics.
  6. When you're done and adjusted everything, use Layout / Page Layout / Lock to lock it all in place (didn't do that the first time!)
Please see the attached .not file for an example.

Enjoy!
Sherry
