Converting MIDI Type 1 files to MIDI Type 0 files
Hi friends,
As some keyboardists especially know, there are two types of MIDI files - Type 1 and Type 0. Notation Software products export a MIDI file in the Type 1 format, but not Type 0 (yet ). However, a number of keyboard synthesizers only use Type 0 files. To get around this issue, you can use a cool little tool called "GN1:0" to convert Type 1 to Type 0 files. You can get this nice little freebie from Günter Nagler's website (he also has some other nifty MIDI tools) at www.gnmidi.com Click on the "Free software" link at the top, and GN1:0 is at the top of the list under "MIDI Windows Utilities." Enjoy! Sherry
