Howdy,

Sorry for the frustration - better Free Text specification is on our list of things to do. In the meantime, you can use a "trick" to get your text only once on the conductor's score, as well as once on all your parts.

That trick is to replace one of the "Page Text" items with the text you want. For example, rather than using Free Text, you can use Text/Page Text/Date. When you first click into the score, the date will appear there. However, if you double-click the date, you will get an editing box that has "<date>" in it that you can then edit to "andante" or whatever you want. You can then use the buttons in the toolbar to specify whether the text appears only on the first page, only on subsequent pages, or on all pages (see the buttons with the white pages and various configurations of red banner on them).

I should probably post this in the "Tips and Tricks" section as well
