thanks very much for the followup. I will definitely try the alternatives you suggest. It is actually quite frustrating to disable and enable then restart even though it solves my problem.

As for In to OUT I never would have guessed that was the standard, but that would be a helpful hint to add to the guide for newbies like me!

David rocks when it comes to knowing about a multitude of configurations, which is one reason we love him here on the forum

There are so many variations and possibilities that it would be tedious to list them all in the Quick Start Guide, though many are covered in the big Users Guide (Help/Users Guide in the software).

I'm adding the information to all SynthFont related posts that with the Notation Software Synth, as well as the advanced audio capabilities of version 5 and going forward, there is no need to use SynthFont with our software as our synth is actually more flexible and handles more than SynthFont does.
